The Potomac Elementary Educational Foundation (“The Foundation”) has been revitalized in order to take on a big, much needed project – a shade structure for our school’s playground area.
Your PES PTA has spent countless years providing students and teachers with support, events, and fun in the sun, but our bylaws do not allow for us to spend our funds on the capital improvement needed to shield our children on the playground during peak UV exposure hours. This is where The Foundation (and your tax deductible donation!) comes in.
A proper, county-approved shade structure runs approximately $45,000, which comes out to $103 per student if everyone chips in. This is an ambitious goal, but we know if anyone can reach it, it is the PES community.
Your PES PTA will continue this year to support students, teachers and families (don’t forget to join!), but moving forward, The Foundation will also be there to help Potomac Elementary make it across the finish line on all of our goals. We trust this complimentary relationship will help all students and make an even stronger school community for all.
