PES PTA’s annual Read-A-Thon is an amazing time of year for our students! This is an excellent opportunity to promote reading, while raising funds for our school community.
**When prompted to “Enter Teacher Name,” write your child’s Reading/ELA Teacher’s Name.**
The Read-A-Thon kick-off event took place during school on February 2nd. Every child received their specific class sign-up sheet from their Reading teacher. Your child can begin to log minutes starting on Monday 2/5 and runs until 2/29/2024. All minutes logged are from outside of school reading. Children have the opportunity to win prizes individually and as a class this year for reading and fundraising. Our goal this year is to read at least 250,000 minutes as a school, and raise $30,000 to continue to enhance our instructional practices with artists in residence, field trips, and other hands on experiences.
We understand that your time is valuable. We also know that providing the best education for your child is important. That’s why we are encouraging everyone to activate their student’s Read-A-Thon account as soon as possible. The instructions are straightforward, making it quick and hassle-free, and it should take less than 5 minutes of your time. Please make sure students do not use their MCPS issued email account when signing up.
This account will serve as a hub for recording and monitoring your child’s progress as a Reader in the event, and for you to share their Read-A-Thon message with friends and family. Use this link to activate your student’s Reader account.
