Student Projects

To participate in STEAM Night, choose ONE activity below and complete the “Intent to STEAM Form” in the STEAM Google Classroom by April 19th April 21st:

  1. Living Museum – Choose a famous STEAMer! This is an individual who has been influential in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, or Math. Research this person and become an expert. Come to STEAM Night as your famous STEAMer. Present a short speech about yourself as a STEAMer. Use the Living Museum guidelines to get started.
  2. Be an Inventor – The telephone, internet, windshield wipers, printing press, and light bulb are all examples of inventions that helped solve everyday problems. What is an everyday problem that you can solve? Use the Engineering and Design Process to brainstorm an invention that solves your problem. Create a model of your invention and test it out! Keep track of your successes and learn from your failures to make improvements. Display your data and bring it along with your finished invention to show us how it works at STEAM Night!
  3. Kid Pix – Become a photographer! Use these Photo Tips & Tricks from National Geographic to let your creativity flow. Take lots of pictures! Choose your 3 best photos and print them. Use an index card to write a 1-3 sentence story for each of your pictures. Display them on a tri-fold display board for our first-ever STEAM Night Photo Gallery.

All participating students must complete the “Intent to STEAM Form” in the STEAM Google Classroom by April 19th April 21st. Students are welcome to work in pairs, but each student must submit their own form. Please contact Mrs. Giliotti if you need help signing up or have any questions.
